C-SINK Kick-off Meeting: June 2023

In June 2024, the C-SINK Consortium came together for the first time in León, Spain, to officially kick-off the project.

C-SINK Project Coordinator ICAMCYL began the meeting by welcoming partners to León and introducing the project’s overarching aims. This was followed by a presentation from one of the European Commission’s Project Officers. Next, ICAMCYL facilitated a Tour de table: each partner provided a brief introduction to their organisation and a summary of their role in the C-SINK Project.

A reminder of the C-SINK work packages:

  • WP1: Project management and status
  • WP2: C-SINK CDR solutions comprehensive analysis and characterisation
  • WP3: Methodologies for monitoring, reporting and verification of CO2 removal
  • WP4: Legal framework, regulatory barriers and policy recommendations
  • WP5: Social, environmental and total economic value assessment
  • WP6: Dissemination, exploitation and communication

After these brief introductions, each Work Package ran a detailed session on their role in the project. These sessions were interspersed with coffee breaks, enabling attendees to get to know each other better over pastries.

This kick-off meeting provided partners with an opportunity to meet each other, set a tone for the collaboration ahead and enjoy the hospitality of C-SINK project co-ordinators, ICAMCYL.
