Workshop on Nature-Based Solutions for Carbon Dioxide Removal

Date: 7th May, 2025

Location: La Coruña, Spain and online

IPCC scenarios show that removing CO2 from the atmosphere is required to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C. In light of the growing consensus that meeting climate targets is dependent on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), various strategies and technologies are being explored. These range from nature-based practices – such as afforestation and soil carbon sequestration – to technological alternatives such as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage.

C-SINK’s third instalment in its workshop series will focus on nature-based solutions for CDR. Join the session for in-depth discussions on afforestation, artificial soils, microbial carbon fixation, and more. Attendees will explore the benefits, risks, and synergies of these approaches, the latest EU policies and regulations, and strategies for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV).
